The Making of ‘Jacob’s Ladder’

I usually use the reduction method for my linocut prints, meaning the same block of lino is repeatedly cut and inked up to layer colours on top of one another. This is a lengthy process, each colour needs to dry before its successor is printed on top. Once the full edition has been printed (in this instance, just 12), no further prints can be made from the block. Hopefully the below images give an idea of how each colour is layered to create the final print.
